Project Objectives:

The project intends to develop a computer platform, “GENESIS,” capable of collecting information on the heritage of historical and cultural interest by processing it at increasing scales of accuracy: from the territorial/urban scale (historic center), to that of individual artifacts allowing the execution of the following analyses: at the territorial scale, the simulation of damage scenarios useful for the management of emergency situations; at the urban scale, the planning of interventions to reduce seismic risk; at the scale of individual artifacts, the development of models of structural behavior for the evaluation of static safety and seismic vulnerability as well as the interventions that would be necessary according to the previous analysis. It is planned to develop several case studies referring to characteristic historic centers of the Southern Regions (demonstrators), with experimental tests on a true-to-life scale, and to develop innovative products and new methodologies for the protection, preservation and conservation of historic and monumental buildings.
